As a rule, PlentyONE automatically synchronises product images with Shopify. twice, the order is incorrect, or old images continue to be displayed in Shopify even though they have been deleted in PlentyONE, you can trigger a manual clean-up.
When is a clean-up useful?
Use this function only if one of the following errors occurs:
Duplicate images: Images are displayed multiple times in Shopify.
Incorrect order: The image positions in Shopify do not match those in
PlentyONE.Missing images: Images are not fully transferred after more than 24 hours despite correct settings.
Outdated images: Images that have been deleted in
PlentyONEare still visible in Shopify.
[!CAUTION] Important note on the process: The clean-up first deletes all images of the affected products in Shopify and then transfers them again from
PlentyONE. During this process, the products in your shop will temporarily be displayed without images.
Carrying out the clean-up
In your
PlentyONEsystem, navigate to:Setup » Markets » Shopify App » Help.Go to the Product Image Clean-up section.
Decide on the scope:
Single products: Enter the relevant Product ID in the field (recommended for testing).
All products: Leave the field empty to clean up all transferred images from Shopify.
Click on SCHEDULE CLEAN-UP.
Recommendations and limitations
Timing: It is best to carry out a full clean-up at night to minimise the impact of temporarily missing images on your customers.
Duration: With large amounts of data, the process may take some time.
Manual uploads: Images that have been uploaded manually to Shopify will be lost during this process. External media types (e.g. videos) will remain but may need to be repositioned.
