Yes, this is an important requirement. PlentyONE only exports a variant to Shopify if a SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) specifically for the source "Shopify" is assigned to the variant.

Without this specific Shopify SKU, the variant will be ignored during export, even if all other settings are correct.

Automated creation of the SKU:

1. Open the section Setup > Wizards > Omni-Channel > Shopify Configuration > Step > Inventory Management (contains a function SKU Generator).
2. There you can configure the automatic SKU creation for item export using VarNo/VarID/Var Model/Barcode .

You can manually add a SKU for Shopify as follows:

1. Open the desired variant in the menu Items > Items.
2. Switch to the Availability tab.
3. Click the Add icon in the SKU section.
4. In the new window, select the source Shopify and the corresponding marketplace account.
5. Enter the desired SKU in the input field.
6. Click Add to save the entry.
