To comply with the legal requirements of the EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR), you can export the necessary information about the manufacturer and the EU responsible person from PlentyONE to Shopify. The transfer is carried out via the "Input Field Mappings" wizard, which writes the data into Shopify metafields.
Important notes beforehand:
- You do not need to create the metafields manually in Shopify. PlentyONE will create these automatically during the next product export.
- The process is repetitive: you need to run through the wizard completely for each individual field you want to transfer.
Step 1: Know the fields to be mapped
You must create a mapping for all required fields from the following lists:
- EU responsible person:
- Name, street, house number, postal code, city, country, email, telephone number
- Manufacturer:
- Name, street, house number, postal code, city, country, email, homepage
Step 2: Perform the mapping per field
The following instructions describe the process for one mapping. Repeat these steps for each field from the list above.
- In PlentyONE, open the menu Setup > Wizards > Omni-Channel and start the wizard Shopify: Input Field Mappings.
- In the step "Create new input field mapping", select the option Metafield from the dropdown list.
- In the step "Metafield configuration", assign a namespace and a name.
- Tip: Choose a systematic namespace (e.g.
gpsr.manufacturerorgpsr.eu_person) and an appropriate name (e.g.name,street,postal_code) to keep an overview.
- Tip: Choose a systematic namespace (e.g.
- In the step "PlentyONE source input field", select the corresponding data field you want to map in this run (e.g.
Manufacturer NameorEU Responsible Person Postal Code). - Click through to the end and complete the wizard.
After you have completed the wizard for all desired fields, the data will be automatically transferred to the corresponding metafields in Shopify during the next product export.
