Before you can transfer article data to Amazon via product catalogs, you must first add the corresponding Amazon product types (product categories) in your PlentyONE system.

Prerequisite: Add Amazon product types

Before you can create a product catalog, add the Amazon product types you want to use in the following menu path:

• Setup » Markets » Amazon » Add catalog templates

You can then create the corresponding product catalogs for the added Amazon product types.

Note for existing articles

If you want to offer exclusively articles that already exist on Amazon, you do not need to create a product catalog beforehand. For this, you simply create offers for the existing Amazon articles.

Step-by-step guide to switching to product catalogs

We recommend gradually switching the article export to using product catalogs. Proceed as follows:

1. Add the Amazon product type for which you want to create a catalog in the menu Setup » Markets » Amazon » Add catalog templates.
2. Create a product catalog for this Amazon product type in the menu Data » Catalogs and assign the data fields in the catalog.
3. Deactivate the Amazon product type in the menu Setup » Markets » Amazon » [Open account] » Settings » Tab: Article settings in the section Export categories. This ensures that no more flat files are exported for this product type.
4. Then activate the created product catalog in the menu Data » Catalogs.
