The adapter is only a transitional solution for transferring product data. Catalogs are the long-term and recommended solution for transferring product and offer data to Amazon.

Adapter as a transitional solution

You can use the adapter if you need time to adjust your data structure.

• The adapter is helpful if you still use many free text fields and attributes that you first need to convert into properties in order to use product catalogs.
• Using the adapter is therefore a way to give yourself time to create your product catalogs.
• Important: With the adapter, only product data can be transferred to Amazon, but no offer data. Creating offer catalogs is therefore mandatory, even if you use the adapter as a transitional solution for product data.

How to activate the adapter

To use the adapter, open the menu:

• Setup » Markets » Amazon » Data Exchange » Data Export
• Enable the option Enable product export via the adapter (without test mode) in the section Product Export - Adapter.

Recommendation: Catalogs are the long-term solution

We recommend that you no longer use the adapter solution and instead work with product catalogs.

• Catalogs are the long-term solution for transferring all data (product and offer data).
• If you already create product catalogs now, you will not need to make any additional settings when the adapter solution is discontinued.
• If you only transfer offer data and do not want to create new products, you must create offer catalogs, as offer data cannot be exported via the adapter.
