Catalogs are a tool in your PlentyONE system that allows you to export data from your system in order to either transfer it to external channels or save it in a file.

How catalogs work with marketplace format

With catalogs that use a marketplace format, you can tailor the information about your product range precisely to the requirements of a sales channel.

• You assign a suitable PlentyONE data field to each data field of the sales channel.
• When exporting your variant data, the sales channel's data fields are then populated with the correct data from PlentyONE.

The two main catalog formats

You basically distinguish between two different catalog formats in PlentyONE:

• Marketplace formats: For exporting item data to sales channels (e.g. Amazon, eBay).
• Standard formats: For exporting data from your PlentyONE system into a file (e.g. CSV, XML).
