Create the deposit in Shopify as a custom item, not as a standard item. PlentyONE then recognises it as an additional line item rather than an item. The order does not get stuck, and the item does not need to be scanned when goods are dispatched.
What happens when a standard item is used as a placeholder?
If you create the deposit in Shopify as a normal item, PlentyONE treats it as a standard item. The system cannot find an SKU for it and cannot assign the line item. For example, the order remains stuck in status 4.
How to create the deposit as a custom item
- Create an order in Shopify and add the products.
- Also add a custom item and enter the deposit there.
- Give the item a name, for example
Pfand. You will enter this name in PlentyONE in the next section. - Deactivate “Item is taxable” and “Item is a physical product”.
- Enter the deposit amount as the price.
How the name is displayed on customer documents
Previously, PlentyONE only recognised the line item if it was called Tip. In that case, “Tip” appeared on the order confirmation and invoice, which confused customers. There is now an option for this in the Shopify assistant:
- Give the custom item in Shopify any name, for example
Pfand. - Open the Shopify assistant and there the option under
Auftragsverwaltung»Zusätzliche Optionen für Auftragspositionen. - Enter the same name there.
The name will then appear like this on customer documents.
What does not work
The order property for deposits is intended only for plentyShop (LTS). It does not work for Shopify or other marketplaces. A deposit line item such as a discount with a positive amount is also not possible in PlentyONE, as the discount function is designed for negative values.
