Dear plenty traders,
With this best practice, I would like to explain once again how you can conveniently import your data via Google Sheets. The advantage is that you can edit your imports live and directly fill pre-created syncs with your data.
1. Create Sync
2. Create import table via GoogleDrive.
Example: I want to change the marking of items:
2. Configuration for the GoogleSheet:
In order for the created Google Sheet to be converted into a CSV file and for plenty to have access to it, you need to make some settings. For this, go to the “Share” icon at the top right of the sheet and click on Advanced in the following window.
In the next window, click on Change under “Who has access”.
Here you set that anyone who knows the link can access the sheet.
To now link this sheet with ElasticSync, let’s look at the URL.
It should appear in the browser as follows:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1rMRq9h30-MseYfusjyoZGqSyTJqlEvN3QdJZk0Nc/
Everything that follows /d/ is basically the token for the document.
To now get a CSV file that plentymarkets can automatically read in, append /export?format=csv to this URL.
Your URL must therefore look as follows:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1rMRq9h30-MseYfusjyoZGqSyTJqlEvN3QdJZk0Nc/export?format=csv
Note: To check if the URL is correct, enter the link in the browser. If the file downloads, the URL is correct and can be used for the import.
You now insert this URL into your sync settings under the HTTPS source and save everything.
If you follow these steps, you can from now on edit data live and import it with a click of the mouse. It doesn’t get any easier or faster!
P.S.: You can also automate your data imports with the help of the scheduler.
