Previously, the VAT ID for the billing address was determined solely based on the BuyerTaxRegistrationId field. This field could contain multiple VAT IDs separated by commas, relating to different countries and ID types. As a result, it was not always possible to unambiguously identify the VAT ID relevant to the order.

PlentyONE now checks the BuyerVatNumber field first, as it contains the VAT ID relevant to the specific order. Only if this field is empty the BuyerTaxRegistrationId is used as an alternative. If this field contains multiple entries, only a VAT ID of type VAT is considered whose country matches the shipping country of the order.
