If Google Maps is not displayed or loaded correctly on your website or in your webshop, there can be various causes. In most cases, it is due to a missing, incorrect, or improperly stored API key.
Check common causes
Missing or invalid Google API key: To integrate Google Maps, you need a valid API key from Google Cloud. If this is missing, entered incorrectly, or has expired, the map will remain blank or display an error message.
API quota exceeded or billing inactive: The use of the Google Maps API can incur charges. If your free quota is used up or there is no valid payment method stored in the Google Cloud account, Google will block access.
Incorrect or incomplete address: The address stored in the system must be exact and complete so that Google Maps can resolve the location.
Faulty widget installation: The corresponding Google Maps widget must be correctly installed and activated in the shop layout.
Store Google Maps API key in the webshop
If you have already generated your API key, you must enter it in the Shop Assistant at the correct place.
Navigate in the Shop assistant to: Webshop » Google Maps.
Enter your valid key in the field Google Maps API key.
Save the settings.
