If you can see variant texts or properties in the new item UI but cannot edit them (the fields are greyed out), this is usually due to missing permissions for the property values in the advanced rights of your role.

Cause and solution

In many cases, the role is configured to only read values. For users to actively change texts, the rights for the specific property values must be explicitly extended.

How to adjust the permissions

1. Navigate in your PlentyONE system to: Setup » Settings » Users » Roles.

2. Select the corresponding role (e.g. Marketing).

3. First switch the role to advanced mode.

4. Navigate to: Items » Items » Variant » Feature » Property values.

5. There you will find the items Property values and Text. Make sure that the permissions for View, Update, Create and, if applicable, Delete are enabled for both items.

6. Important: For the new rights to take effect, affected users must log out of the system once and log in again.

Troubleshooting in the new UI

If you can use the old item view (Edit item) but still have problems editing in the new UI (Items), re-logging in after adjusting the rights is the crucial step to update the session.
