With Channel maps you save time when creating catalogues. Instead of creating mappings for each catalogue individually, you create cross-category mappings that are automatically inherited by all connected catalogues.
How to use Channel maps:
Create: Create the Channel map in the menu Data » Catalogues » Left side navigation: Channel maps.
Map: Map the data fields in the Channel map. Pay attention to the particularities mentioned below.
Connect: Open your Kaufland catalogue, go to the Settings tab and select your created map from the Channel map drop-down list.
Effect: All data field mappings of the Channel map immediately overwrite the existing mappings in the catalogue.
Restoration: Do you want to restore the original catalogue mappings? Simply remove the selected Channel map in the catalogue settings.
General particularities for Channel maps
For data fields to be displayed in the Channel map, a basic rule applies: A field only appears if the Channel map contains at least two categories of the same sales channel.
Particularities when using Channel maps for Kaufland
1. Language-specific data fields
These fields (e.g. the title) depend on the language of the target country. If you create a Channel map for several countries where a different language is spoken, these data fields will be displayed multiple times – once for each language.
Logic: Kaufland.de and Kaufland.at share a field (German), while Kaufland.cz requires its own field (Czech).
Examples:
If you have created a Channel map for the categories
Clocks_DEandSofas_DE, the data field title appears only once: for German. If you have created a Channel map for the categories
Clocks_DE,Clocks_CZ,Sofas_DEandSofas_CZ, the data field title appears twice: once for German and once for Czech.
2. Platform-specific data fields
These are values that vary per sales channel (e.g. Kaufland.de and Kaufland.at), even if the language is the same (German). These data fields must be mapped differently depending on the sales channel.
Classic example: The VAT rate. This differs, for example, between Kaufland.de and Kaufland.at.
3. Account-specific data fields
These fields depend on both the account and the sales channel (e.g. shipping group ID or warehouse ID).
| Configuration | Display in the Channel Map |
