If line items in imported WooCommerce orders are created without an item ID even though the SKU exists in the system, there is often a space at the beginning or end of the SKU. Remove the space and the system will correctly assign the items again when importing orders.
How to recognise the problem
- Individual line items in a WooCommerce order have no item ID or variant ID.
- For items that have already been synchronised correctly, the problem occurs again after some time.
- A manual stock export for the item only resolves the problem temporarily.
- The problem does not occur with newly created items.
How to resolve the problem
- Open the affected item and check the SKU stored for WooCommerce in the item settings.
- Check whether there is a space at the beginning or end of the SKU.
- Remove the space and save the settings.
- Repeat the check for all affected items. A space at the end of the SKU is barely noticeable in the display.
What else you should check
For items to be assigned when importing orders, the SKU must be stored for the item for each marketplace. In addition, the SKU in the system must match the SKU in WooCommerce.
