Since 12 May 2026, Decathlon has been gradually introducing a new category structure organised by product type. As part of this change, existing categories are being renamed and restructured.
The existing categories will remain available for the time being. However, for the Apparel & Shoes section, Decathlon is already introducing new categories with their own category IDs. The old and new category structures will coexist during a transition period.
To ensure that your offers continue to be displayed correctly on Decathlon after the migration is completed, you should review and update the affected categories and catalogue mappings in PlentyONE.
Required steps
- Add new catalogue templates
Go to Setup » Markets » Decathlon » Add catalogue templates and add the catalogue templates for the new categories you require. - Update the property for Decathlon product categories
Go to Setup » Settings » Properties » Configuration and update the property you are using for the Decathlon product categories:- Rename existing selection values to match the new category names.
- Create additional selection values for new product categories if required.
- Link your variations to the new categories
- Go to Item » Items » [Open variation] and check whether your variations are linked to the property you are using for Decathlon product categories.
- Then select the appropriate selection value with the new category name for each variation.
- Review catalogue mappings
Go to Data » Catalogues and review your product catalogues.- With the new catalogue templates, additional mandatory fields may have been added or existing mappings may have changed. Update your data field mappings where necessary.
- Check your export
Additionally, you can perform a manual catalogue export and then check the Decathlon backend in Mirakl for errors related to invalid category IDs.
Important: You can continue to use the existing categories during the transition period. However, we recommend updating affected products to the new categories as soon as possible to ensure that product updates can continue to be transmitted once the old categories are removed.
